Rimu Tree

My tree is called a Rimu.

I am going to find out some facts about the Rimu tree and write it below in my document.

This is a picture of a rimu tree and it has a very long trunk.

These are Rimu tree leaves.
They are really green.

Did you know that the rimu tree grows red berries.
The rimu tree is also known as the red pine.
This tree has leaves that grow up to about 7 centimetres long.

Cat and dog

Today we were learning about cats and dogs.
We wrote a diamante poem about dogs and cats, using nouns, adjectives and verbs.
Mrs. Parks was teaching us how to write out a diamante poem.
She helps us learn our writing language so that we can understand how to write better stories.
Today I learnt that adjectives, verbs and nouns should all be used for any story, especially in books.

NOUNS ADJECTIVES VERBS
for cats for cats for cats
kitty                     Cuddly                   etc.

Grubtown Tales

This book is called Grubtown tales.
I like this book because it is about The year that it rained cows.
In this story it tells you that you wouldn't be able to find grubtown on any map.
Grubtown Tales were made possible through the participation of the following people, animals and organisations, it said.

THE GRUBTOWN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Grubtown Chamber Of Horrors
THE OFFICE of the Mayor of Grubtown
THE SHED of the Mayor of Grubtown
Offal's sunbeds
etc.
In the book there were raining cows and stuff. It was crazy but i still liked it.
I give it 2 thumbs up.
:)

I am learning equivalent fractions

We have been learning about equivalent fractions.
We made fractions from shapes, photographed it and inserted it into our document.
I learnt that some fractions are different but they can be the same too.
I also learnt that equivalent fractions are the same fractions.
For example, 1/2 will add up to 2/4. All you have to do is double the bottom number as well as the top.
1/2 = 2/4 = 4/8 = 8/16 = 16/32 etc.
It was fun making equivalent fractions with shapes

My inquiry on the rimu tree.

I made an inquiry on the Rimu tree.  It was cool to see the wood made into a musical instrument too.  I also learnt how to put pictures and video into a Google Presentation.  The cool thing was doing the double writing for the title.
