Matariki light trail

Matariki light trail 23-7-14

Today I went to the Matariki light trail at the park.
First we walked through the park way and saw some beautiful lights in all kinds of different colours.
I even saw a silver fern.
My favourite light was the unicorn.
I took a video of the glen innes school and point england school dancing on stage.I saw people from room 9 and 10 dancing on the stage.
I also took pictures of all the lights and all the people that were there.
The unicorn light was hanging from a tree and it was made of wire, just like wire sculptures.
We saw most of the people holding lights and we saw others sending lanterns into the sky.
The lanterns flew so far that they looked like tiny stars in the sky.
Then after a while they had disappeared.
So after the lanterns went away my family and I went to the park again and waited for the lights to turn off and for the Matariki light trail to finish.
We walked home and Bought some Mcdonald’s.
After that my mum said that she would take me to the last day of Matariki on saturday when they do fireworks.
My brothers and I jumped up and said………
YAY!!!

Recount: Netball training

Recount:Netball training.23-7-14

Today after morning tea our class, room 9 went to train for netball.

First: We went to class to take our jerseys and hats off.
We lined up, ready to go to the netball court for training.
We walked with our hands behind our backs to the netball court and met our coach, Donna.

Next: Coach Donna told us to spread out on the yellow line inside the court.
We then did some warm-ups to keep our bodies warm.
After the warm-ups I got really tired so I decided to rest a while.

Then: Coach Donna told us to team up in two’s or three’s.
I teamed up with Richelle and Rebecca.
Coach Donna taught us a game called Friendly or in the fire.
The rules were:
When coach Donna says friendly we have to throw the ball to our partners and when she says fire we have to try and touch our partners ankles without the ball touching the ground.

After that: We played another game where we had to throw our balls into the hoops.
everyone had to pick a dot to stand behind.
I stood with Richelle and Rebecca and saw more girls in our line.
We stood behind the green dot.

Finally: We had a challenge to see which team could get the most score into the hoops(hula hoops)
We played one more game before we left the court and the rules were:
We had to throw our balls around in a circle boys against girls.
We used two balls and the boys did the same.
we passed it around to see who would drop it and who would not.
I didn’t drop it once.
When Room 10 came we all huddled up and yelled……… Room 9 is the best.
